A ONE-OF-A-KIND COLLECTIBLE
When Maestro Louis Beltran entered into dialogue with landscape architect Robert Bell, the ambition was clear: create a work that would not simply occupy space, but define it. Both operate at the highest level of their disciplines. One commands metal with architectural rigor and symbolic depth. The other composes landscapes that balance structure, silence, and atmosphere. Their meeting resulted in The Serafim, conceived during BELT’s 40th anniversary year as the culminating statement of four decades devoted to metal mastery. For collectors who understand the weight of authorship

The Serafim belongs to BELT Collectibles : Artist Editions, a category reserved for functional works that exceed typology and enter the realm of cultural objects.
Inspired by the highest celestial order, the seraph is not a messenger but a state of being. That idea shaped the structure. Six wings form enclosure, protection, and release. Closed, the piece gathers inward. Open, it reorganizes the space around it.
This duality is not decorative. It is architectural.
Created as the pièce de résistance of our 40th year, The Serafim distills what we have learned about permanence, proportion, and restraint. It stands as a definitive work within our legacy.
"Together with Bob, we began sharing sketches and ideas about materiality, spaces, volumes, functions, and spatial relationships within the landscape of a luxury residence. We also considered additional factors that would determine the final form, understanding this angelic image as it would stand within a natural, landscaped environment designed to satisfy the most refined elite."

THE GENESIS
The evolution of The Serafim began with a search for proportion capable of carrying symbolic weight. Early sketches explored the geometry of the wings in both closed and open states, studying how enclosure and expansion could coexist within a single architectural body. The angelic reference guided the rhythm and symmetry, yet every line was tested against function, structure, and balance.
As the drawings progressed, abstraction became measurable. Plan views and sections refined the choreography of the opening mechanism. Full-scale templates translated vision into dimension. Each feather was studied individually, then recalibrated within the whole to ensure structural continuity and fluid movement. The transition from graphite to bronze marked a decisive stage. Weight distribution, pivot systems, and load-bearing shells were tested in real scale, allowing the piece to mature through iteration.
Throughout this process, inspiration and discipline advanced together. The symbolic presence of the seraph guided its direction, while artisanal precision ensured its permanence. The final form carries both intentions with clarity. It holds the stillness of contemplation and the readiness of revelation within a structure built to endure.
Thus, bronze emerged as the noble material par excellence, both symbolically within sculptural art and for its permanence.
As if by alchemy, The Serafim was conceived, created, transformed with great love, and refined by hand.
THE ALCHEMICAL PROCESS
Within our atelier, metal is not treated as an industrial commodity but as a living material shaped through ancestral techniques passed down from generations. Forging, casting, repoussé, specialty assembly and finishes coexist in a continuous dialogue between precision and intuition. Each gesture carries decades of accumulated knowledge, and every surface reflects the discipline of hands trained to understand resistance, weight, and transformation.
The making of The Serafim required this full spectrum of artisanal mastery. It demanded structural intelligence, sculptural sensitivity, and the patience to allow bronze to reveal its character gradually. Everything was discovered through process.
Curves and straight lines were adjusted one by one, discovering the sinuosity of the angel, its body, its wings, its feathers, its eye, its content and its container, transmuting bronze sheets and bars into pieces that ultimately formed a universe with a unique identity.

The wings function as structural enclosures. Their layered rhythm establishes both containment and movement. The transformation from closed to open is controlled, deliberate, and irreversible in intent. There is no theatrical gesture, only the consequences of alchemical craftsmanship.
The inner structure belongs to the same being and reveals itself gracefully between the plumage and the function, with elements in bronze and gold-toned stainless steel forming a kaleidoscope of reflections and colors that invite joy and celebration.
The finishes reveal the intimate stage of dressing the piece with colors and natural patinas applied by hand. Light activates the surface differently throughout the day. Bronze gains depth so that observer and user may appreciate it from their own perspective. It thus becomes a sculptural metal piece sustained by all its processes, conceived exclusively for it.
THE GRAND REVEAL
Unveiled at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach, The Serafim entered one of the most respected stages in American design. Within this environment of connoisseurship and critical attention, the piece established itself as a focal point of dialogue and gathering.
Guests approached it first as sculpture, then experienced its transformation into a working bar.
The opening of its wings introduced movement and ceremony.
Its presence within the curated landscape affirmed its architectural integrity and collectible intent.
A SINGULAR COLLETIBLE PIECE
The Serafim was conceived as a singular authored work within BELT Collectibles and Artist Editions. It is defined by permanence, structural rigor, and cultural weight. Created in our 40th anniversary year, it stands as the definitive synthesis of design, engineering, and artisanal mastery cultivated over four decades.
