Texture Finish

Patina Patinas are living finishes that naturally evolve over time in response to use, light, and environmental factors. Lacquered patinas, however, halt the natural patina process to prevent its aging.
Finished Made by Hand All work performed by BELT is crafted by hand by skilled artisans; therefore, there may be subtle changes in the character, look and feel on finish of the final pieces. Thus, slight color or grain differences do not constitute grounds for complaint.

Interior applications

LIMITED MODERATE GREAT

On-site restoration is possible but may involve minor compromises. These finishes can be renewed without full refinishing, although additional labor may be needed for optimal results. Spot touchups are an option.

Exterior applications

LIMITED MODERATE GREAT

In most cases, the piece will need to be disassembled and taken to the atelier for repairs. Full refurbishing offsite is typically required to ensure the integrity of the restoration and to avoid potential compromises in the final result.

REMARKS AND DISCLAIMERS

REMARKS AND DISCLAIMERS

Environment.

Patinas exposed to sunlight can change their tone due to UV rays.
Humid and saline environments can accelerate the aging of the finish.

Protection coating.

Permalac protection slows down the aging of the finish but highlights imperfections that are not apparent to the eye.
